These terms apply to everyone taking part in a game at Escape Time St Ives, Cornwall.
Voluntary participation. Taking part in any of our games is entirely voluntary. You may ask to leave the room at any time during your session, and our games are designed so this is always possible — our rooms are never locked in a way that prevents emergency exit.
Physical and other risks. Our games take place in enclosed spaces and may include low lighting, loud sound effects, and sudden or unexpected moments designed to be part of the experience. Some games are more intense than others. If anyone in your group has a heart condition, is pregnant, has epilepsy or a sensitivity to flashing lights, experiences claustrophobia or anxiety in enclosed spaces, or has any other condition that could be affected by these elements, please speak to a member of staff before your session begins so we can advise on the most suitable game for your group.
Age requirements. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible person aged 18 or over throughout the session.
Personal belongings. Escape Time St Ives is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings brought onto the premises.
Liability. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law. Beyond that, Escape Time St Ives accepts no liability for injury, loss, or damage arising from participation in a game except where caused by our negligence or breach of these terms.
Conduct. We reserve the right to end a session without refund if a customer's behaviour puts themselves, other participants, or staff at risk, or causes damage to the venue or props.
Photography and recording. Our games are monitored by CCTV during your session, primarily for safety purposes. Footage is not routinely recorded, though on occasion some recording may occur. If we ever wish to take photographs or video of customers for marketing purposes, a member of staff will ask you directly before your session begins, rather than this happening automatically.
Data collected for this disclaimer. We keep a record of who has agreed to these terms, including name and the date of agreement, as part of our booking records. This is kept for six years from the date of your visit, in line with the period commonly used for personal injury claim records under English law, separately from any marketing preferences.
